| Popis | The Bahamas Postal Service, a government department operating under the Ministry of Energy and Transport, passed its first legislative act for establishment and regulation in 1788. The postal system provides services to every island in the country, maintaining ten post offices throughout New Providence that contain a total of 24,750 private mailboxes. In addition to traditional airmail, express mail, and parcel post, the department has operated a savings bank since 1936 and a postal money order service. |
